This collection of ‘Rector’s Ramblings’ began life during the unforgettable times between Covid lockdowns in 2020. Having just been licenced as a House for Duty Priest in the Parish of East Dean, Singleton, and West Dean (the Valley parish) and unable to meet my parishioners in person, I began sending out a newsletter. These soon turned into me rambling on about life in the Rectory, events in the news, local and national, trivial and momentous, and the natural world surrounding us.
These musings on life in a rural Rectory cover events including the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the coronation of her son, natural disasters, and the mundane day-to-day life of a Priest, part-time Assistant Manager of a Christian Bookshop, and occasional Cathedral Day Chaplain.
Some will make you think, some will make you smile, and one or two may make you cry, but I hope all will help bring you closer to God.
